If you need vision correction in Newark and New Lexington and you don’t want to wear eyeglasses, then contact lenses may be the right solution for you. Before getting contact lenses, you’ll need to update your prescription and have an eye examination from one of the qualified professionals at Trillium Vision Care. Our courteous and capable eye doctors and staff can help you get the contact lenses you need to see better and more clearly.

TYPES OF CONTACT LENSES

There are multiple types of contact lenses. We can help you choose the right contacts for your vision impairment.

Hard Contact Lenses

Hard contact lenses hold their shape but still allow oxygen to flow through the lens to the eye. Hard contact lenses are especially helpful for people who suffer from astigmatism. These contact lenses are sometimes preferred for people who have allergies.

Soft Contact Lenses

Soft contact lenses tend to be more comfortable to most people. This makes them more popular. There are several types of soft contact lenses.

Daily wear contacts. These contacts are worn during the day and removed before going to bed at night.

Extended wear contacts. Extended wear contacts are worn during the day and at night in bed. Extended wear contacts are only removed about once per week.

Colored contacts. Colored contacts change the color of your eye. You can enjoy clear vision while also changing the appearance of your eyes with tinted contacts.

We help our patients decide which contact lenses are right for them. After we’ve determined what type of vision correction and prescription you require, the professionals at Trillium Vision Care will help you choose the right contact lenses to meet your goals.

BENEFITS OF CONTACT LENSES

The decision to choose contact lenses over glasses can be a tough one. If you’re not sure whether contact lenses are right for you, consider this:

  • You’ll enjoy clear vision without glasses affecting your appearance
  • Contact lenses will move with your eye
  • There will be no glasses frames to block your sight
  • Contact lenses don’t fog up in cold weather

Still not sure whether contacts or glasses are right for you? Talk to one of the professionals at Trillium Vision Care for advice.

CONTACT LENS EXAMINATIONS IN NEWARK AND NEW LEXINGTON

Before you can buy contacts, you’ll need to get a contact lens exam in addition to a comprehensive eye exam. What’s the difference between these two exams? During your comprehensive eye exam, your eye doctor will determine whether you need corrective lenses. Your eye doctor will also evaluate your eye health.

During the contact lens examination, your eye doctor will perform special tests to determine whether you’re a good candidate for contact lenses and if so, what size.

Once your eye doctor has determined that you are a good candidate for contact lenses, you’ll need to decide whether you would like to wear colored contacts, or clear. Then, your eye doctor will order your contact lenses.

CONTACT LENS TRAINING

People who don’t normally wear contact lenses will need some training on how to put contact lenses into their eyes, how to keep their contact lenses clean and when to remove contact lenses. We offer this training for our patients to ensure that they are able to adjust to their contact lenses.
