Dr. Doug Ryen earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2000. He was an owner of Pickerington Eyecare from 2001 to 2022, when he then moved to his Trillium Vision Care locations. He purchased the Newark location (formerly Newark Optometry) in 2019 from his former classmates, Drs. Cheryl Wood and Kathy Wise. He then purchased Dr. Robert Dittoe’s New Lexington practice in 2020.
Originally from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Dr. Ryen graduated from Penn State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In his free time, he enjoys watching his two daughters dance, playing golf, and coaching the Newark Catholic girls’ golf team.
Dr. Ryen provides comprehensive vision and medical eyecare for patients of all ages and has particular interest in quality eyewear, specialty contact lenses, and treatment and management of ocular surface disease (dry eye). He currently sees patients at both the Newark and New Lexington locations.
